Like many owners, I found it surprisingly difficult to find clear information about suitable foods — especially when trying to avoid common ingredients like chicken.
After going through the process of trying different diets, including novel proteins and hydrolysed foods, I wanted to bring together a simple, UK-focused guide to what’s actually available.
My own allergy cat, Chibi (pictured here) has tried everything from hydrolysed food to kangaroo! He’s finally happy and symptom-free. It’s a huge relief.
What this site does
The aim of this site is to:
- list cat foods available in the UK by protein type
- explain common approaches such as novel protein and hydrolysed diets
- provide practical guidance for managing food sensitivities
Suggestions welcome
This is an independent project and I’m always happy to hear from other cat owners. If you’ve found a food that works well, or notice something that’s missing, feel free to get in touch.
A quick note
I’m not a vet, and the information on this site is intended as general guidance only. If your cat has ongoing symptoms, it’s always best to seek advice from your vet.
